Urban Distribution Warehouse, Manchester, UK
A 2014 logistics market overview demonstrated a significant decline in Grade A logistics facilities located in good distribution locations, supporting our clients’ decision to develop this 95,000sqft urban distribution warehouse with offices. The scheme is within an employment zone but is at the boundary of a residential area. As a result particular attention has been paid in the design to orientation, height and acoustic properties to minimise impact on the houses behind.
The cladding has been designed inn neutral colours to accommodate end-user signage. The building is a double bay propped portal structure with the valley gutter eliminated by the use of two flat pitches with a curved apex. The offices and loading docks are emphasised with white flat panel cladding.
