A development for Bluemantle consisting of the refurbishment of an existing office block. The existing offices were stripped back to exposed floors and walls, with new raised flooring put in and the layouts of the offices changed to suit the new entrance area.
A new glass and roof was erected to create the new entrance area, with new lifts and stairs put in to make the building DDA compliant. In other areas of the development, some external walls were rendered alongside part of the roof, which was replaced.
Our client re-approached us to look at giving the entrance to the office development a facelift, so our proposal included a stand alone timber canopy which helps break up the elevational treatment and massing, which, in turn, enhances the external aesthetic of the building. We also introduced a screen in the foyer which provides more privacy to the lift core and ground floor office entrance.
