Bakery Production Facility, Manchester, UK

The client is a commercial bakery with a plant in the south of the UK but with expanding business in the north.

In order to meet the demand, accommodate projected expansion and allow flexibility across both plants the brief sought a 170,000sqft building divided into deliveries, production and goods out. Annexed to this is a block housing offices, workshop and changing facilities; a plant pod and two banks of silos.

The client required a muted appearance so the elevations are designed in two tones of grey with the darker colour used as a high level band and vertical panels to reduce the visual height and length of the building. The project team continued on from the completion of the building to the fit out/production installation.
